Golden Gate fret wire is produced from the finest nickel-silver alloy

preferred by manufacturers and repair shops worldwide.

The stiffness of fret wire is more a function of the tempering process

than of alloy composition. Our FW-20 modern fret wire

is especially designed for restoration of fine, more modern instruments. Check the dimensions. Our FW-10 wire is a little narrower and is for vintage instruments.

Sold by the foot, approximately 4-6 feet are required

to fret most instruments. Our FW-10 wire is smaller, and is made for the older style banjos and mandolins. Made in Scandinavia.
